MANILA, Philippines — The bells are set to ring for Philippine cinema’s “Movie Queen” Bea Alonzo and business tycoon Vincent Co, as official marriage banns from a Manila parish confirmed the couple’s intent to wed.

The announcement surfaced during the March 8, 2026, livestream of the Sunday mass at St. Peter the Apostle Parish in Paco, Manila. According to the rites of the Catholic Church, marriage banns are a canonical requirement involving the public proclamation of an upcoming union to ensure there are no legal or ecclesiastical impediments to the marriage.
The notice identifies the groom as Ferdinand Vincent Pe Co, 44, the president of Puregold Price Club Inc. and son of billionaires Lucio and Susan Co. The bride is listed as Phylbert Angelli Escalante Ranollo, 38, which is the legal name of the multi-awarded actress. The document further indicates that the couple currently shares a residence in an exclusive enclave in Paco.
While the publication of the banns serves as an official declaration of the “affianced” status of the couple, both Alonzo and Co have remained tight-lipped regarding a specific date for the altar date. This low-key approach aligns with Alonzo’s previous statements about guarding her personal life.
The couple first sparked dating rumors in early 2025 after being spotted at various corporate functions for the Co family’s retail empire. In August 2025, Alonzo officially confirmed the relationship but emphasized her desire for a “private” romance, notably avoiding the “grand reveal” culture often associated with celebrity engagements.
“I have nothing to clarify, and I want to keep things private,” Alonzo told reporters in late 2025 when asked about her ring finger. “I’ve learned so much from my past experiences, and I want to keep my personal stuff really private this time.”
Despite the actress’s penchant for discretion, the ecclesiastical filing at St. Peter the Apostle Parish acts as the final procedural step before a Catholic wedding ceremony. Industry insiders suggest the wedding may take place within the next few months, as banns are typically published three times prior to the exchange of vows.
Alonzo, who is currently preparing for her lead role in the GMA-7 drama Whispers from Heaven, has yet to release an official press statement regarding the leaked banns. Similarly, the Co family and Puregold representatives have declined to comment on the executive’s private affairs.
